On May 1st, 2017 I became the Executive Director for the Orange County Association for the Education of Young Children. I am so proud to have the opportunity to work for you, and for Orange County’s young children and their families.
For those of you that do not already know me, there are a few principles that guide me both personally and professionally. I believe:
We are always stronger together. Each of you have knowledge, skills, and talents that I don’t have. My goal is to get to know you, including your strengths and needs. I want to harness your energy and skills and help you connect with others for support. If we know our strengths and help each other, we will be a very strong OCAEYC.
Work should be fun. Every person, young and old, learns and works better when they are having fun. When we are having “fun”, we are engaged and internally motivated; we are excited to get to work and are constantly challenging ourselves and learning.
We are making a difference. One of the things that gets me out of bed each day is the knowledge that I am making a difference for children and that this is the most important investment I can make. I truly believe this, and I truly believe you are making a difference too. I am so excited to see what we will all do together in Orange County!
I believe that our job at OCAEYC is to take care of you, so that you can take care of children and families. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are feeling!
I hope I will have the opportunity to meet each and every one of you this year. Please reach out to me using social media, at events, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I would love to come out and visit your site to see the wonderful work you are doing.
Finally, you may have noticed that OCAEYC has a new logo? Well, I am excited to tell you that that isn’t the only change you will see in the coming months! In fact, if you keep track of each of the BIG changes we make for the remainder of 2017, you might just win a BIG prize! Please make sure you are using your favorite social media tools to keep in touch with us. You can find us on social media through our website: www.ocaeyc.com.
Thank you for the work you do for Orange County’s young children.
